Resistance Is Futile

Jericho Drumm Sep 24, 11:38 AM
Well, Im up to 5 now.
I dont know how or why.  I can only tell you I have 5 computers now.  My house sounds like a damn power plant. Everything is online. 3 of them are wireless and 2 are LAN'ed.  I have 2 Windows Xp, A Kubuntu, A Kubuntu/Ubuntu bastard, and the last one is Xubuntu. Which is a light weight Kubuntu. It took a bit to get the laptops going.

'The Company'   had several laptops that were damaged and needed repair also.  I did some serious checking and they told me to take what I wanted.  So I took some routers and the broken laptops.  I could not fix theirs (didnt want to), but I could use the hard drives.  So I did two brain transplants. Things were touch and go for some time.  I did have to burn a black chicken at midnight to appease the Dell Gods.

The wireless is locked to mac addresses. The big problem is none of the windows boxes talk to the Linux boxes.

The Linux boxes see each other.  They see windows boxes.  They see Laptops.  They will not let me access each other.  Thats a samba issue however.  And thats going to take time for me to fix.  Im fairly busy lately.
