This is fantastic. Its open source so the software is free. You download it and install it without having to break your pocket book to get it. Being Linux based the software is going to generally be secure. It will not need to use active X features that Microsoft based programs use. This means no random embeds from spyware or malware. You shares of data or images will be secure. Even if visible through the net it would take a dedicated hacker to access your files. Linux is fully upgradable and customizable for any user level. You could buy a MID for yourself and have your email and schedule as the default panel. You could buy another for your Wife or Mother and set her defaults to run mail and Google maps. Dont like your email program? Change it.
The MID's themselves seem light and versatile. Why carry a 7-12 lb laptop around when you can stick this thing in your pocket and head out. Some places across the country will be better suited to the MIDs. Usage of the MID requires and open wireless connection. In certain cities this is as easy as opening a window. In others, such as Houston, you have to find a hot spot. IF you were to go to a less developed area,such as Some parts of Georgia you may have difficulty locating a signal.
