The Mythological God Test

Jericho Drumm Jun 20, 11:50 PM

Your result for The Mythological God Test…

Anubis

Anubis was the Egyptian God of funerary rituals and the protector of the dead as well as the judge of souls and ruler of the underworld. Since it was his duty to weigh souls (along with the Goddess Maat) as a means of discovering the content of honesty, Anubis was also the God of truth.

He is usually seen as a man with the head of a jackal holding the divine sceptre carried by kings and Gods, but he can also be found on the walls of tombs as a black jackal or dog accompanying Isis. By no means an evil God, his domain of graves and tombs was nevertheless a frightening one, but then, one that offered the chance of an afterlife.

But why did the Egyptian God of the Dead have the head of a jackal? Well, jackals have the uncomfortable habit of lurking about tombs and graves, which was one of the reasons why the Egyptians sought to make their tombs more elaborate; to keep the bodies safe from the rather smart black canines. It is only natural therefore that a God of mummification would be connected with them. By worshipping Anubis, they hoped to invoke him to protect their deceased and assure their safe journey through the underworld, his domain.

The Chakra Test

Take this test at Tickle

You’re a Seventh Chakra!

The Chakra Test
Brought to you by Tickle

Edward, you are radiating positive energy from your:

Seventh Chakra

This chakra is located at the crown of your head and represents the seat of the soul. The seventh chakra is associated with one’s connection to the spiritual self and to the divine. In your case, this chakra appears to be clear and unblocked so that positive energy can flow from it freely. Radiating positive energy from your seventh chakra indicates that you’ve cultivated higher wisdom concerning the important life lessons associated with this energy center. You’re apt to feel a greater bond with the spiritual world. You’re probably also more able to live in the moment than most other people are. The seventh chakra is the chakra of highest spiritual evolution.

For people like you who possess powerful seventh chakra energy, the spiritual world can be as real as the physical environment that exists all around you. At times, your connection with a higher power can also help you transcend the common confusion of life’s day-to-day happenings to feel truly at peace. However, on other occasions, being so spiritually inclined may leave you vulnerable to pangs of confusion or doubt; these are times when your faith is shaken. Ultimately such difficult periods will usually only serve to make your spiritual alliance stronger, furthering you along your life’s path.

At the same time this positive energy is being conveyed, you are showing signs of an energy disruption in your Fourth Chakra. This blockage could be due to emotional abuse or a high level of difficulty you experienced during childhood. When a person is hurt as a child, it’s easy to see who the perpetrator is and who is the victim. However, identifying hurts doesn’t always make them go away. It can sometimes be difficult to let go of past injustices without getting angry or feeling that life has dealt you a bad hand. But more importantly, in some cases such trauma can actually set you up for further negative experiences. Such a pattern is known as retraumatization.

Retraumatization occurs when individuals who have been emotionally hurt lose the ability to protect themselves from future harm. In some cases, people fail to build up the boundaries necessary to keep those who would hurt them out of their lives. In others, they may simply never fully heal, so that future problems become more painful. Whatever the case in your own life, taking steps to grieve and move on from past pains, as well as learning to protect yourself from new ones, can help you clear your fourth chakra to feel greater love and openness in your life.

Your seven chakras

The picture below depicts where each of the seven chakras is located in the human body. Note that some people believe the body has more than seven chakras. However, generally speaking, most believe in the seven energy centers illustrated here.

7th chakra [ level 7.6 ]
6th chakra [ level 0.8 ]
5th chakra [ level 2.7 ]
4th chakra [ level 0.2 ]
3rd chakra [ level 0.8 ]
2nd chakra [ level 5.4 ]
1st chakra [ level 1.6 ]

The First Chakra

First Chakra

[ level 1.6 ] The first chakra or root or base chakra is located at the base of the spine. This is a source of great energy and is the first of the seven chakras in terms of where it is located on your body. Here it is depicted in the body:

Your first chakra is associated with your connection to a tribal force and your sense of belonging in the world. It symbolizes the physical plane of existence — both the earth and your physical body. This being true, it’s not surprising that the first chakra is known to be the source of self-preservation and survival. When this first chakra energy is disrupted, you may be more liable to feel alone in the world, be afraid for your safety, and feel disconnected from other people. You’re also likely to feel ungrounded, lacking a strong connection to the earth or your body. Energetically, when the first chakra is disrupted you can feel you have no real “roots.”

Your first chakra is a level 1.6 out of 10. This means that right now it appears that you have a preoccupation with survival on some level. Such a focus can get in the way of your enjoyment. It can also keep you from taking the risks necessary to be happy. By working the lessons associated with this blocked energy, you can begin to feel safe enough to take more risks and live more fully.

These are some common themes associated with problems in the first chakra:

* Believing that you’re holding onto life by a string, like your life is about to fall apart * Feeling that you are in a powerless position * Working diligently to ensure you do not lose shelter, money, or safety * Extreme blame or lack of identification with your family of origin * Fear that you will be rejected and completely alone * Eating for comfort and to ground the body

Disruption in this chakra is also sometimes associated with separation from the mother at birth.

In its ideal state, the first chakra brings health, prosperity, feelings of security, and a vivacious attitude toward life. However, when energy is blocked, it may result in any number of illnesses. Blocked energy in the first chakra is most often associated with problems in the:

* Colon * Bladder * Female or male reproductive system * Urethra

Possible psychological problems associated with disruption in this chakra include:

* Identity problems * Dissociative disorders * Dependent personality disorder

The Second Chakra

Second Chakra

[ level 5.4 ] The second chakra is associated with the element of water. It is often called the sexual chakra, because sexual energy is believed to originate there. But the second chakra is much more than simply a sex chakra; it is the seat of creativity. This chakra is located at the sacrum, which is the densest bone in the spinal column. Here it is depicted visually:

When the second chakra is closed or blocked, it can make the entire person appear lifeless. A blocked second chakra can cut you off from your emotions, and you may feel removed from an interest in sexuality. On the other hand, if your second chakra is excessively open, emotions can sometimes rule your being, creating an unbalanced system overall.

Your second chakra is a level 5.4 out of 10. This means that at present, you may have minor struggles with envy and greed, but generally you aren’t governed by these issues. For the most part, your second chakra energy is balanced and flowing. However, at certain moments, you may feel challenges associated with this area flare up, becoming disruptive to your energetic system. This is something you can address and improve.

Some common themes associated with problems in the second chakra are:

* Difficulty being a “good loser” * Threatened by dependency on others * Envy and greed dominate thinking * Feelings of entitlement that don’t necessarily correspond with actual deserved rewards * Difficulty regulating emotions — either having no access to them or feeling overwhelmed by them * Taking on exaggerated male or female roles * Fear of poverty

In its ideal state, the second chakra brings a sense of fluidity, a depth of satisfaction and feeling, sexual fulfillment, and the ability to go with the flow of life. Blocked energy in the second chakra is often associated with problems in the:

* Kidneys * Lower back * Pancreas * Spleen * Prostate gland

It is also associated with:

* Allergies * Diabetes * Diarrhea * Ulcers * Hypoglycemia * Anemia * Leukemia * Premenstrual syndrome * Sexually transmitted diseases * Menstrual problems * Infertility * Vaginal infections * Ovarian cysts * Impotency * Slipped disks * Bladder infections

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

* Depression * Sexual difficulties * Borderline, narcissistic, antisocial, or histrionic personality disorders

The Third Chakra

Third Chakra

[ level 0.8 ] The third chakra is associated with the element of fire. Appropriately, it is located at the solar plexus in the sternum. Here it is depicted in the body:

The third chakra is associated with personal power. People who are empowered have high positive energy emanating from their third chakras. Knowing that you can move things forward in your life to order to learn, grow, and live well is closely related to having a clear third chakra. Individual charisma is also generated in this energetic region. Conversely, people who don’t trust their own perceptions or feel confident in their own decisions may experience disruptions in this chakra.

When the third chakra is closed or blocked, it can lead to a lack of energy, fatigue, and a yearning to be quiet and shut down. During times when this chakra is blocked, confrontations with others can be very hard to initiate or even tolerate. Blockage can also lead to problems building and sustaining interpersonal relationships based on equality.

Your third chakra is a level 0.8 out of 10. This means that at this point you don’t seem able to access your personal power to the extent that is truly motivating. But don’t be dismayed. By examining issues related to your third chakra, you can restore the flow of energy that will help you meet your most core personal needs.

Here are some common themes associated with problems in the third chakra:

* Inability to stand up for yourself * Low self-esteem * Feeling unable to make necessary life changes or to get unstuck if in a life rut * Feeling easily overwhelmed by real or perceived obstacles in life * Being overly self-critical * Being highly sensitive to others’ criticisms or rejection * Preferring to not make your own decisions * Having trouble receiving compliments * Difficulties building respectful relationships with others * Being easily intimidated * Feeling like a victim * Being resentful about having to take responsibility for others

In its ideal state, the third chakra generates a great deal of energy for meeting personal goals. It also encourages a balanced sense of self, deep self-acceptance, and self-respect. These positive feelings carry over to one’s relationships with other people. Blocked energy in the third chakra has been associated with problems in the:

* Adrenal glands * Liver * Stomach

It is also associated with:

* Digestive difficulties * Ulcers * Addictions, especially to stimulants * Arthritis * Eating disorders * Cancer * Coordination problems * Multiple sclerosis * Obesity * Premature aging * Gallstones * Pancreatic disorders * Diabetes * Hepatitis * Indigestion

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

* Obsessive-compulsive disorder * Uncontrollable or overwhelming anger * Bipolar disorder or more mild but still extreme highs and lows in mood * Insomnia

The Fourth Chakra

Fourth Chakra

[ level 0.2 ] The fourth chakra is associated with the element of air and is sometimes called the heart chakra. This is due both to its location near the heart and because of the emotions with which it is associated. Here it is depicted in the body:

The fourth chakra is associated with a gradual increasing of consciousness, as it sits between the lower three and upper three chakras. However, primarily, it is the center of unconditional love. When a person becomes disconnected from their heart and the emotions associated with this region, the fourth chakra becomes closed off. This often results in both low energy and shallow breathing. At times when you’re feeling a fourth chakra blockage, you might even feel that it’s difficult to breathe.

Emotionally, when this chakra is blocked, you’re likely to feel wounded or victimized. Often this will be due to trying to work out past problems. People who have studied chakras liken this kind of chakra disruption to a hurt child inside of us, hashing out scenes over and over, trying to get closure on difficult events. If this kind of inner turmoil happens on an ongoing basis without relief, the overall effect can be a feeling of being stuck in the past. When the energy from the fourth chakra is disrupted, you may have trouble protecting yourself from emotional harm because you generally feel raw and emotionally vulnerable.

When the fourth chakra is open and energy is flowing positively, far different feelings result. For example, you are likely to feel open, loving, and compassionate to those around you and to be very accepting of people for who they are.

Your fourth chakra is a level 0.2 out of 10. This means that right now, your fourth chakra appears to be disrupted. As a result, you’re likely to be plagued with feelings of anger about how events in your life have transpired or about what others have done to you. You also may be feeling fearful and emotionally unstable. Know that this time will pass, and that you can help yourself move to a better, more positive place by taking a look at the issues associated with your fourth chakra.

These are some common themes associated with problems in the fourth chakra:

* Feeling stuck and wounded by events from the past * Being unable to forgive someone and holding on to the anger you have toward them * Fear of breaking down emotionally * Being too emotionally vulnerable * Feeling unloved or unworthy of love * Feeling shamed by being rejected * Being resentful of others for the love they receive * Extreme loneliness * Fear of showing affection

In its ideal state, the fourth chakra will radiate love and warmth. It will help also help you feel a strong, centered connection with yourself, so that you can reach out to others with compassion and a lack of judgment. This chakra also helps you to come to new levels of self-discovery. Disrupted energy in the fourth chakra has been tied to problems in the:

* Heart * Thymus * Upper back * Lung * Shoulders

It is also associated with:

* Vascular difficulties * High blood pressure * Autoimmunity problems * Heart attacks * Enlarged heart * Blocked arteries * Asthma * Emphysema * Bronchitis * Poor circulation

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

* Self-destructive behaviors * Suicidal ideology or acts * Trouble emotionally connecting with others * Feeling alienated from others and in opposition to yourself

The Fifth Chakra

Fifth Chakra

[ level 2.7 ] The fifth chakra is associated with acts of communication, including speaking the truth or finding creative ways for self-expression. It is located at the base of the throat and is often called the throat chakra. Here is an illustration:

This chakra is associated with sound in general. The meaning of your own personal truth is central to this chakra. The more free-flowing the energy of this chakra, the more you are able to speak your truth without fearing the consequences — or at least without letting external forces stop you from doing it. When the throat chakra is too open, you may talk more than other people would like and may not listen closely enough.

On a different level, this chakra is also associated with personal will. When the chakra is very open, your will can be excessively strong; when it is closed, your will can seem nonexistent. However, at times when the fifth chakra is in balance, your will is aligned with divine will. During such periods, you’re likely to feel that things are going your way, rather than having to fight against the current in order to reach your goals.

When your fifth chakra is disrupted, personal truths can become harder to express. You may even become afraid to speak your opinions or feel unsure about what you might say. Issues of the will can also come to the fore during these negative times. For example, you may feel that when things go wrong, others are entirely to blame and when things go right, it’s solely your will that created the success. Such exaggerated and absolute thinking is often connected to disruptions in the fifth chakra.

Your fifth chakra is a level 2.7 out of 10. This means that at present, you seem to be cut off from the vehicle of your natural self-expression. Perhaps you feel uncomfortable speaking your own truths or have become unsure of who you are. At these times when you feel meek or fearful of being who you are, it can help to meditate on opening your fifth chakra. Once the blockage is cleared, you are sure to feel more confident in your expressing your thoughts and principles.

Some common themes associated with problems in the fifth chakra are:

* Fear of public speaking * Fear of letting go * Feelings of inner rigidity * Fear of exposure * Dishonesty to cover the feared truth * Inability to say what you mean

In its ideal state, the fifth chakra gives you the energy and centering you need to speak the truth. It also helps you to make unique contributions to the world by unleashing creative, self-expressive energy. Blocked energy in the fifth chakra is sometimes associated with problems in the:

* Ear * Lymphatic system * Mouth and teeth * Neck and shoulders * Throat * Jaw

It is also associated with:

* Hearing difficulties * Parathyroid complications * Thyroid problems * Sore throat * Jaw misalignment * Stiff neck * Tension headaches * Swollen glands

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

* Stuttering * Poor auditory memory * Inability to use words for adequate self-expression * Addiction to drugs * Cigarette smoking * Alcohol overuse

The Sixth Chakra

Sixth Chakra

[ level 0.8 ] The sixth chakra is associated both with light and with psychic abilities. This chakra provides a source of inner knowing, as well as an objective reflection of how things are. By being focused on a commitment to the truth and flexibility of thought, people with clear sixth chakras usually have a sense of life’s realities that surpasses usual conscious barriers. For this reason, the sixth chakra is connected with higher levels of wisdom and a level disposition. It is located between the eyebrows. Here it is depicted in the body:

When this chakra is closed or blocked, you may have trouble seeing the big picture of events that are unfolding in your life. The truth of matters can be dwarfed in details, and you may become easily confused. At times like these, you can sometimes overlook the subtler forces in any situation because you’re so busy giving attention to literal details. You may also find that you have a tendency to judge people and events pretty harshly.

Your sixth chakra is a level 0.8 out of 10. This means that at this point in time, your vision of your life seems to be a bit clouded. Ask yourself if you’re getting lost in the details of situations and failing to see the grander scheme of things. During times of confusion, it can be hard to access the full scope of your intellectual capabilities. However, by doing some active work on the issues related to the sixth chakra, you’re soon likely to experience a new level of perspective and clarity.

Here are some common themes associated with problems in the sixth chakra:

* Trouble putting things into perspective * Lack of strategic thinking; inability to see the forest for the trees * Inability to pick up on intuitive or psychic information * Being highly focused on concrete, linear thinking * Confusion and clouded thinking * Fear of self-examination and the unknown * Emotional denial * Insecurity over others’ skills * Being slow to learn from life experiences

It’s also interesting to note that when someone’s sixth chakra is too open, they can become so geared toward generalities and the big picture that they become unable to focus on a project’s details to complete it. Also, a very open sixth chakra can lead to receiving too much psychic information so that one is overwhelmed by it.

In its ideal state, the sixth chakra brings you insight and helps you see both the big picture of a situation and its important details. By providing perspective, this chakra helps balance and prioritize the issues of your daily life. It can also provide access to psychic information. On the other hand, blocked energy in the sixth chakra is associated with problems in the:

* Face * Eyes * Central nervous system * Brain * Head * Sinuses * Pineal * Pituitary

It is also associated with:

* Headaches * Cancer, especially brain tumors * Visual problems * Blindness * Deafness * Neurological disorders

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

* Extreme confusion * Inability to focus * Either lack of intelligence or access to it * Being hooked on fantasy * Paranoia * Poor visual memory * Psychoses * Schizophrenia

The Seventh Chakra

Seventh Chakra

[ level 7.6 ] The seventh chakra is associated with thought. It signifies our relationship to all things and the unity of everything. This chakra also symbolizes self-knowledge and spiritual consciousness. It is located at the crown of the head, but it is connected with the entire muscular system, the skeletal system, the skin, and nervous system. Here it is depicted in the body:

The seventh chakra is associated with a more profound spiritual connectedness than the other six chakras are. This chakra is the seat of higher wisdom and the energy that comes from it. The seventh chakra is thought to give access to the infinite intelligence that exists in the universe and is our key to opening the door to it. This chakra allows for self-expression on higher spiritual levels and is associated with the pineal gland, the gland that produces visions in dreams. When asking the question, “Who am I, really?” you are tapping into the energy of your seventh chakra.

When this chakra is closed or blocked, you can feel cut off from spirituality. At such times, your relationship with the divine becomes limited, and fears of the spiritual side of life can be magnified. Disruptions in your seventh chakra can also amount to the inability to gain closure on unfinished business. Such problems have the potential to end up as a real thorn in your side. Most of all, lack of flow in your seventh chakra leads to an inability to live in the present. People with blocked seventh chakra energy seem to always be either revisiting their past or looking ahead to the future.

Your seventh chakra is a level 7.6 out of 10. This means that by and large, you are able to live in the present. In fact, your connection to your spiritual self appears to be strong. Perhaps this is because you realize that your vision of life is only one reality and that a deeper truth lies in the spiritual world. As one with a high-level seventh chakra, you should realize that sometimes even positive energy related to this chakra can lead to spiritual crises; this is simply part of the path a more evolved person takes.

Some common themes associated with problems in the seventh chakra are:

* Always focusing on the past or the future * Being continually unhappy with the present state of your life * Believing that life has no meaning * Feeling cut off from all things spiritual * Clinging to unfinished business from the past * Fearing true self-knowledge

In its ideal state, the seventh chakra brings a joy and a deep faith that everything happens for a reason. A person with pure, positive energy in their seventh chakra will feel harmony with everything and will be able to tap into the greater wisdom of the universe. Blocked energy in the seventh chakra has been associated with problems such as:

* Brain tumors * Cancer * Epilepsy * Migraines * Parkinson’s disease * Pituitary problems

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

* Multiple personalities * Nightmares * Memory problems

The seven bodies

As you’ve learned, chakras are sources of energy in your body, each corresponding to a different physical region. However, the physical body is not all you’re made of. In fact, many believe that there are seven layers of energy that make up your presence here on earth. Those layers are:

* Physical body — This is the only body that can be viewed without clairvoyant abilities. It can be seen and felt. This is the densest of the seven bodies and is the one through which you most actively interact with the world. * Emotional body — This is the entity you use to both express and feel emotions, including the feeling of divine love. * Mental body — This body corresponds to the source of your thinking and reasoning. Abstract thinking, creativity, logical reasoning, and philosophy are housed here. * Intuitional/compassionate body — This is the source of compassion and is a vehicle for expressing higher forms of love. This body is beyond the restrictions of time and space. It allows you to understand things without having to reason through them first. * Will/Spirit body — This body is the vehicle for your spirit to express itself. This is essentially your spiritual will. It carries both the potentials for great positivity and great negativity. It influences how you make decisions. * Soul body — This is a more abstract body, not subject to the normal restrictions of humanness; it can provide guidance for the person from a soul level. * Divine body — This is the highest of the seven bodies. It is where your connection to the divine lies. The divine body provides us with the means to feel the presence of a higher power in ourselves and to feel oneness with all things.

Each of your seven chakras affects and is affected by these bodies. Interactions can be complex because each of the chakras has a specific location on each of the seven bodies. The book Kundalini and the Chakras discusses each of the chakras on the different bodies and gives information about how each chakra-body combination affects you. More information about these combinations can also be found in The Book of Chakras: Discover the Hidden Forces within You.

Balancing your chakras

When your chakras are balanced, they are neither too open nor blocked. With practice, you can learn to willingly open or close your chakras, depending on events and how you want to feel. This section gives suggestions on how to:

* Change your chakra state to make it relatively more closed or open * Clear chakra blockages * Pursue activities that will help your chakras

Note that some people believe working with the chakras can be dangerous and should only be done carefully once you become well informed about the powers of Kundalini energy. Kundalini energy is a powerful energy that is coiled at the base of the spine when dormant. However, when roused — by doing these exercises, for example — you may have an excess of energy to manage. With that caution in mind, consider taking small steps toward changing your chakras. Keep an eye on how you physically and mentally respond to the process.

To be most cautious, start at the top of your head and move downward when you’re doing exercises or focusing on chakras. This is a good idea because your Kundalini energy is located around the root chakra. By focusing on your root or first chakra last, you’ll have cleared the upper chakras and will be more able to handle the Kundalini energy released from your first chakra.

Changing chakra states
As has been mentioned throughout this report, when your chakras are too open or too blocked, problems can occur. For example, if your fourth chakra is very open and you’re going into a classroom to take an exam, you might find yourself distracted from the task at hand. Instead, in a testing situation, you might consciously want to focus on opening your sixth chakra. This can help you increase the clarity of your mind. To follow are five steps to help you change the state of any of your seven chakras:

Step 1: Locate the area of the chakra you want to work with. Sense the chakra’s energy as it is right now.

Step 2: Place your hand in that area of your body. Pay close attention to the physical sensations in that area.

Step 3: Visualize the energy around your chakra. What color is it? How large an area does it cover? Is it radiating out, pulling energy in, or feeling disjointed or free-flowing?

Step 4: Now visualize how you want it to be. When chakras are functioning optimally they will have circular energy, like a “wheel of light,” which is the Sanskrit meaning for the word chakra. You may want to start simply by visualizing the area of the chakra energy as bigger or smaller than it is.

Step 5: Next, try visualizing your chakra in other ways. See it bigger or smaller, flowing in or flowing out. Practice with how these things feel. Then you can use your reactions as a guide to determine the best state for your chakra given the feelings you’re trying to achieve.

Clearing chakra blockages
There are many ways to clear your chakras. Some healers can clear blockages using their hands or through their mental or spiritual powers. However, you don’t have to seek out professional help in order to clear your chakras. You can clear blockages yourself by visualizing flowing energy out of the chakra that is blocked, thereby dissolving whatever is in the way of its optimal functioning.

Another way to clear chakras is to visualize light coming through your body. Lay down on the floor with your spine as straight and unstrained as possible and imagine a sheet of light that is very across your whole body. Starting at the top of your head, visualize this sheet of light moving slowly through the regions of your body. Imagine that this light is breaking up negative energy in your body and preparing it for removal.

Once you’ve covered your whole body and reached your feet, you’re ready to remove the debris that this exercise produced. Starting at the floor, imagine another layer of light that is specifically designed to absorb negative particles. Move this long sheet of light from the floor, rising upward until it has cleared your whole body. Each time it encounters negative energy particles that were loosened by the previous step, it carries it out of the body. Once that particle is outside of the body, the sheet absorbs this negative energy.

Pursuing activities that will help your chakras
There are many types of exercises that can help your chakras. In fact, a wide variety of physical exercise will help to move your energy around. However, some muscle-building exercise can tend to clump energy in particular places. If you’re looking to clear chakra energy, consider trying yoga, tai chi, or qigong. All of these practices help to release energy from your body and get your chakra energy flowing freely again.

Another type of movement that can help to keep your chakras balanced and flowing is free-form dancing. You may need to do this movement in private, but either way you should find the time and space to listen to an uplifting song, or something that resonates deep within you, and let your body move as it will to the music. Do not think about how it will look to someone else on the outside. Instead, focus on how your body feels and focus on truly expressing what you are feeling, throughout all seven bodies. Such creative expression is beneficial to all seven of your chakras.

Tickle's Original Inkblot Test

You’re a Reserve!

Tickle’s Original Inkblot Test
Brought to you by Tickle

This one I love. Its always great.

Reserve

By having your unconscious mind driven most by Reserve, it appears that you like to keep your internal life private. So while some people might wish for the bright lights and paparazzi of celebrity, that’s probably not your thing. In fact, you might be a bit more wary than most people are about others “getting into your business.” Perhaps you grew up thinking that personal matters should be kept to yourself or that being reserved is a virtue. Regardless of the reason, people with a heightened drive for resistance are typically not very communicative. If this is true for you, the people in your life may never even realize when you’re having an off day — and perhaps you like it that way.

However, if you tend to keep people at arm’s length, you may sometimes appear secretive or standoffish to those who don’t know you well. In some cases, a lack of communication with others may even put you out of touch with your own ideas and feelings. If you find that resistance is affecting your life in negative ways, you may want to more closely examine the situations that tend to spark it. Once you have a handle on the things that make you defensive, you can take an active role in opening yourself up to people and new situations. When you do, you’ll likely find that the benefits of sharing more of yourself far outweigh the risks.

Unlocking your unconscious

Your responses to the inkblots reveal more than just what drives your unconscious mind. They also uncover some central details about your personality, perspective, and relationships with others. Your unconscious mind colors these characteristics but is different from them. Here’s what your responses indicated:

Your concept of reality
Your concept of reality is highly similar to that of others but not an exact match. Your perceptions seem to fall in between those who create their own unique realities and those who possess more mainstream perspectives. Because you straddle that middle ground of being in agreement with others and having your own opinions of the world, you can be both a follower and a leader. You can be a follower in the sense that you probably don’t have trouble going along with the group most times since others’ ideas will usually seem rational to you. You can be a leader because your creative viewpoints may sometimes allow you to guide others in new directions.

The difficulty for people like you is that at times you may feel pulled between taking the popular viewpoint and accepting your own vision of what is right. Because your concept of reality is rarely off the deep end, you can generally feel confident that there’s something valid in your perspectives. Even if others don’t always share your views, try not to let the masses talk you out of them. There can sometimes be great value in forging your own path. Finding a healthy balance between others’ ideas and your own can be key to both your relationships and success.

Gaining confidence in the validity of your perceptions can be very valuable for types like you. When you find yourself doubting an opinion that is uniquely yours, try taking a step back to ask yourself where your uncertainty is coming from. Is it because you truly suspect that you’re wrong, because others believe you are wrong, or because you’re not clear on what your opinion really is? By honestly reflecting on your views, you can develop stronger convictions and feel less susceptible to others’ sway.

Rather than trying to determine whether you can trust your perceptions on a case-by-case basis, over time you’ll be able to develop gut instincts about the quality of your views. Here’s an exercise to help you test not only what you think, but also how strongly you believe in your perceptions.

Think back to the last time you went to the grocery store. Then, take out a piece of paper and a pen and map out the layout of the grocery store as you remember it. Be as specific as possible, including details of where different food groups are located, how many aisles there are, the number of checkout lanes, and so forth. Mark those things that you are sure about with a star versus those you’re just pretty sure about.

Then, on your next trip to the store, take your drawing with you and grade yourself on how accurately you depicted it. Were there certain things you got right but others you were way off on? If so, don’t feel discouraged. Some people will get the number of aisles right but will misremember food locations. Others will know exactly where their favorite foods are but won’t remember anything else about the store. Doing exercises like this one can help you sort out the quality of your perceptions as well as bolster your belief in yourself.

Your mental flexibility
This section looks as the flexibility of your opinions, values, and perspective. To determine your result, Tickle’s experts examined both the fluidity of your thinking and the rigidity of your opinions.

Based on your responses, compared to most people, your thinking is highly flexible. When someone challenges your values or opinions, you’re one of those rare types who are usually willing to sit back and listen. People like you tend to enjoy this kind of intellectual sparring and may even welcome the opportunity to examine and reexamine your views. Those around you probably appreciate this willingness to consider others’ ideas, rather than always thinking your perspective is the right one and trying to convince everyone else of the same. Being open to fresh viewpoints is an admirable quality.

In addition, flexibility can be paramount to fast learning. This is true because unless you’re able to question what you already believe, it’s difficult to believe in something new. By being open-minded, you’re more likely to make your life into a kind of schoolroom for constant learning. People who don’t have this skill can become stuck in the rut of their viewpoints and may fail to grow and develop as well as you can.

There are pros and cons to any way of being. The drawback to being flexible is that you may become so changeable that you end up either appearing very fickle to others or getting confused about what you really think. In some situations it’s important to have a strong foothold on your own perspective so that you aren’t completely swept away by a convincing argument or new possibility. If you notice that you’ve made a radical shift in your thinking or values, you may want to take a step back and examine the causes.

Ask yourself: Are your old and new perspectives more similar than they first appeared? Did you ever feel strongly about your old view? Or, does this new idea simply make more sense based on the evidence and your experience? In asking this last question, the part about measuring things against your own experience is extremely important. Remember that people can make an argument for almost any viewpoint. That doesn’t make it true. Try to use your instincts and past to help you determine if there are aspects of your old perspective that you might have abandoned too quickly. After all, there was probably something of value in your old view — otherwise you probably wouldn’t have had it.

You Level of Fantasy
Some people fantasize nearly nonstop, others rarely do, and the majority of people fall somewhere in between. Imagination and the ability to create alternate realities are the two factors that determine whether or not a person is capable of having a highly colorful fantasy life. However, not everyone who can fantasize does. For example, if two strangers who were both capable of fantasizing were sitting next to one another on a bus, one might still spend the whole ride thinking about paying their bills and formulating their next to-do list, while the other could be envisioning taking a siesta on a tropical island. For Tickle’s Inblot Test, having a high level of fantasy involves both having the mental tools necessary to fantasize and putting them to use.

Being prone to fantasy can be thought of as a spectacular gift. Fantasy can give one the ability to create a made-up world much more captivating and pleasurable than the usual day-to-day realities. This can be a wonderful asset as you go though life – a free form of entertainment that you can use any time.

Some people look at those who are fantasy prone in a derogatory way. They feel that the more realistically a person thinks, the saner they are. Indeed, most definitions of “abnormal” refer to what is “unusual” or “not frequent”. Clinical experts sometimes look at fantasy as a means of trying to escape reality, rather that face what’s there.

Regardless of how one feels about fantasy, its value is heavily dependent on how it’s used. If you use fantasy to visualize improvements in your life without ignoring important realities, then fantasy can be a useful talent. It can help you maintain your optimism and even to devise novel solutions to your problems. However, if fantasy is something you retreat into as a way of denying reality, then you might want to reconsider your use of it.

Tickle’s experts found that you are certainly capable of fantasizing and may even enjoy keeping yourself entertained that way. However, based on your responses, your first reaction to stress probably isn’t to create an alternate universe or to imagine things differently than they actually are. In fact, you appear to have the nice balance of having the gift of fantasy at your disposal without having the tendency to overly rely on it. In other words, when it comes to fantasy, you typically use it, but don’t abuse it.

Fantasy is a technique frequently employed by people living under harsh conditions in order to ease their stress. In this way, imagination can be a vital tool for prison inmates who live in depressing, restrictive conditions day in and day out. Using the power of fantasy can also be a profound relief for people living in poverty and in war zones. In fact, there are many people who live in adverse situations or deal with other painful circumstances that could benefit from occasional relief through fantasy.

Fantasy only becomes a problem when you ignore something you need to deal with because you have the ability to fantasize it away. For example, imagine you have a problem with an aunt of yours. Perhaps this aunt says something that upsets you almost every time you talk with her. As a result, after a while you stop listening to her in favor of pretending that you’re someplace else entirely. The fantasy you create for yourself might be more exciting – and far less annoying, but it doesn’t change this detrimental pattern between you and your aunt. A better response might be to put your fantasies aside for a while to address your aunt’s poor communication style head-on.

At it’s worst, fantasy can keep you from making important lifestyle choices. For instance, if you fantasize that you have boundless energy and are a wonderful athlete, and in the meantime sit on your couch eating potato chips and playing video games, there will eventually come a time where you won’t be able to deny what is really happening to your body and you will have to tend to the reality of your deteriorating health. However, there’s no reason that you have to let fantasy affect you in these negative ways. So long as you pay attention to the aspects of your life that need addressing, like your health or your career, you should be able to use fantasy and creative visualizations to bolster your happiness and success, not impede them.

How you relate to others
Your relationships are complex things. One important aspect affecting all of them is the role that you play when interacting with others. Do you typically take an active approach when dealing with the people around you, or do you tend to behave more passively? According to your test responses, you appear to have a more passive approach to interacting with others. As a result, you likely prefer to be in an environment where others are the movers and shakers. That way the responsibility doesn’t fall on you to make things happen or keep everyone happy. It’s not that you can’t take action in your own life to get what you want. It’s simply that when it comes to interacting, you’d usually rather that other people took the lead.

The positive side to this trait is that it leaves you plenty of time to observe what’s happening around you. People like you tend to be “watchers,” checking out the scene to better understand people’s personalities and deeper motivations. In this way, rather than making the first move, you can make the informed move. Over time, you may even become known for your canny observations and tendency to be a good judge of character. Being observant can also be helpful to your overall development as it can aid you in realizing the kinds of people and relationships that serve you best.

Believe it or not, one complication that can arise for people who have passive styles is interacting with other people who are passive. If neither individual is willing to take the initiative, their relationship may either become paralyzed or even fail to materialize in the first place. If you find yourself in a situation like this one, challenge yourself to make some social leaps. You might be surprised to find that sometimes you can enjoy taking the lead.
